For the In-Between Moments...

Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.
— Charles (Chuck) Swindoll

I've been thinking a lot lately about children. They grow so quickly from being a newborn, to a baby, to a toddler and so on... It's not realistic (for my family, at least) to update our family portraits every milestone we come across. So for that reason, I'm announcing a new session---
The Honest Session.  What this is, is a short and sweet session of your little love doing one of their favorite activities or showing off one of their favorite things.  These fun little sessions will be about 15-20 min long and you'll receive 10+ artistically edited digital negatives via and online gallery for sharing and downloading for archival purposes.

Think about something you love doing with your baby, or your children love more than anything!  Maybe it's a bath, or playing with chalk in the driveway.  Exploring the backyard, jumping on the bed, showing off their cool hot wheels collection or simply being rocked to sleep by mom or dad with their favorite lovey.  This is the session for the in between moments, for documenting their childhood before time steals them away forever.

I'm so excited to announce that I'll be taking a select few of these sessions from this moment forward.  If you are interested, please use the "contact me" tab above to get in touch so we can chat about documenting your special memories to be cherished for years to come.

Bellies then Babies

Toward the end of 2016, it seemed my schedule was booking up quickly with maternity sessions!  I have no issues with that, because I truly believe that pregnant women are radiant and I would be honored to document them all the days of my life.  That being said, I also love babies...  Squishy, cuddly, sleepy, sweet sweet smelling babies..
Lucky for me- All of those maternity sessions turned into baby sessions!  Fresh and newborn sessions, so you could say I'm in heaven! <3

Enjoy this gorgeous little lady.  What a fun job I have the pleasure of working.

Baby Bump and Charlie the Dog | A Maternity Story in Sugarhouse, Utah

Allison and I met via email on new years eve and since then we have chatted a few times planning her maternity session.  One thing I love doing in my photo sessions is bringing as much of their real life into their session as possible.  For this couple, that meant including their pup, Charlie!  I don't know if you can tell from the photos, but this dog is literally the coolest. I wanted to stop, min-session, and spoon her on the grass until we both fell asleep.  She was just one of those dogs you can't not fall in love with...
I am so excited to meet their bundle of joy in the next few weeks...  Until then, I will just be over here obsessing over their maternity session! <3
One thing you can't see in these photos is the fact that we attempted to meet two times before this session!  The first time was supposed to be a sunrise session in one of the surrounding canyons, that morning just happened to be a terrible, white out, blizzard.  We still tried to make it there, but by the time I made it almost to the base of the canyon, my car literally stopped moving forward and started sliding backwards on the road...  We unfortunately had to reschedule the session for the following weekend.  That next weekend I happened to have the worlds worst sinus infection!  I feared she would go into labor before we got the chance to take her photos to document her belly- but we did!!!  Third times a charm. She was a champ, and despite having a cold, they both were rock stars!

Be sure to check back to see the post introducing their sweet bundle earthside.

New year, New blog

I haven't been the best about blogging in the past.  I've often thought about how I should write a post, or I need to update my blog. but it seems like it always gets put on the back burner... This year will be different!  I want to share the memories I document with you! Mixed in with your memories will me my own families memories.  It will be a place for me to share my heart and my soul.  I can't wait to share with you all.
